What diagnostic options are available at Save on medical Tourism partner clinics?

Save on Medical Tourism partner Clinics use the latest technology and are at the front of innovation in dentistry.

Some partner clinics will have all diagnostics available onsite whilst others will organize your appointment and your transportation in the near by radiology.

Depending of the type of procedure you require, there will be a need for dental diagnostics which may include the following:

  • CBCT scan
  • CAD CAM
  • Dental xray or OPG
  • Intra oral camera
  • Digital smile Design

What is CBCT and when is it required?

CBCT stands for cone-beam computed tomography. CBCT systems used by dental professionals rotate around you, capturing data using a cone-shaped x-ray.

In less than a minute, about 150-200 images are captured from a variety of angles. The data captured are used to reconstruct a 3D image of your:

  • Teeth
  • Mouth, jaw, and neck
  • Ears, nose, and throat (ENT)

CBCT scan  can provide a detailed picture of your bones, nerves, and soft tissues. A single CBCT scan can show potential dental issues such as tooth decay, bone loss, abnormal growths, facial fractures, periodontal infections, irregularities of the temporomandibular joint, and problems with the tooth roots or dental pulp. This allows your implant dentist to determine if dental implants can be safely and effectively placed.

CBCT scans are  used to determine  if you are a candidate  for having dental implants, but they are also used as part of the treatment planning phase. A large part of successful treatment outcomes involve careful planning before the actual procedure, and CBCT scans allow your implant dentist to do just that. Since a CBCT scan shows all your bones, nerves, and soft tissues in extreme detail, this allows your dentist to establish their approach before they even begin the procedure.

In order to be able to provide our clients with an accurate pricing proposal we require you to provide us with OPG or CBCT scan or some photos. We will discuss with you  in detail how your radiology results can be provided to us if you live abroad. Please note our partner clinics will only accept CBCT results that are not more than 2 months old.

Frequently Asked Questions

To enable us to have a good look at your oral health, our intraoral digital camera enables us to easily and comfortably inspect your mouth  and also  to  do the thorough assessment before we start planning for a procedure.

Computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) are digital technologies used to design, plan and  create dental prosthodontics with 3D printing technology. Save on Medical Tourism Clinics use  CAD/CAM, so that they can efficiently create dental crowns, bridges, veneers, crowns, dentures and dental implant supported prostheses.

 Digital Smile Design (DSD) allows dentists to change the appearance of your teeth as you like it. DSD includes using high definition cameras attached to a computer to capture minute details about a person’s teeth in the form of images and videos. The DSD app is then used to simulate a new design of your smile. You may also contribute to this design by discussing your expectations from this cosmetic dental treatment. Once the design is finalised, dentists can perform the actual dental procedure. There are many benefits in using this technology;

  • Your new smile will be custom made
  • You will be able to communicate how you wish your new smile to appear
  • You may also  be able to have your bite improved with the measurements taken
  • The measurements are very precise and enable the dentist to create a perfect new look
  • This process is easy and with no pain!
